Trip to Korea - Hanok Village and Love Museum
This has got to be one of my favorite days during our 7-day trip. We only booked Nami Island- Petite France-The Morning Calm and Lotte World Adventure online, the rest of the days we plan the itinerary ourselves.
On our second day, we decided to trust our talent in map reading and lust for wandering. This is a laid back day for us as we move at our own pace and in our own timing. We get to bask the beauty and serenity of the city. Seoul is not a loud city. It has its charm that fascinates the introvert in me. I like to listen and appreciate the native noises of its environment. Maybe because it's winter and people just like to keep moving until they are at a warm place. But I noticed even on subways, stations, coffee place, they seem to be at peace (or maybe they're just too cold). Hehe! But this is not the same case in Myeongdong shopping street. Please wait for my "Trip to Korea - Winter Day 5" for Myeongdong highlights.
Our first stop, the HANOK VILLAGE. It's not difficult to get to places as their subway is connected to every possible tourist stops you could think of.
oh! oh! oh! Wait. We went to Lee Min Ho's house in Legend of the Blue Sea before going to Hanok Village since it's near our place too. Below is my sakit ulo pose.
Next stop, HANOK VILLAGE.
We didn't pay any entrance fee at Hanok Village but they strictly observe silence as there are villagers who actually live there. It's also famous for Korean drama shootings.
It was extremely cold that day we had to buy ear muffs (KRW6000) and face mask (KRW6000) near Hanok. We were also warned that the next day will be colder. I'm already wearing chunky clothes - 2 jackets, 2 pants, 2 high socks, ear muffs and hand warmer that day, but it was not enough to warm our bodies.
After 2 hours of touring and checking the place, we had our lunch at a Korean restaurant, 300 meters away from Hanok.
We ordered - Ramen (KRW5000), Spicy Pork w/ Rice (KRW8000) and of course Kulpy Chicken (KRW8000). What I like about Korean food is they serve multiple side dishes, Kimchi is my favorite. :)

I'm going to warn you now as you scroll down this blog. The next photos you're going to see is R18 and not safe for work. So please make sure no kids are seeing this without your guidance. :D
We bought our winter jackets in Hongdae at KRW39000 each. This is my first big purchase and it was worth it. I didn't wear multiple clothes for our next day tours as this jacket alone is thick enough to make us feel warm. Didn't bother wearing my ear muffs and knitted hat too!
TIPID TIPS: Buy your jacket outside Myeongdong. The jackets we are wearing usually cost KRW125000 at the shopping area. For the ear muffs and face mask, buy it at the outskirt of tourist spots. It's a lot cheaper. I saw the same ear muffs and face mask I bought with half the price at subway underground markets.
Tickets for Love Museum cost KRW8000 per person. It is located at B1 Floor, Seogyo Plaza 20 Hongikro 3gil, Mapogu Seoul.
